Alessandro Magnano San Lio has gained significant experience in the sector of investment funds and assists asset management companies and institutional investors, both Italian and foreign, in setting up AIFs in the real estate, private equity, venture capital sectors and other alternative asset classes.

He advises financial companies, investment firms, asset management companies, payment institutions, crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) and other regulated entities on all legal and regulatory aspects, including compliance and corporate governance matters.

He supports banks and intermediaries in board self-assessment processes, in defining internal controls and in ensuring compliance with transparency requirements.

He has solid expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing, assisting banks and intermediaries in setting up organisational safeguards and managing AML risk.

He also handles contractual matters, supporting clients in negotiating and drafting outsourcing, supply and cooperation agreements between regulated entities.

He assists banks, intermediaries and asset management companies in aligning internal processes with environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria and the European regulatory framework (CSRD, EU Taxonomy), and advises funds on structuring responsible investment policies in compliance with the SFDR.

He manages institutional relations with supervisory authorities, assisting clients in preparing applications and handling inspections and regulatory meetings.
